1. Can I install DDR2-800Mhz on a laptop originally with DDR2-667Mhz RAM.
- Yes. DDR2-800Mhz and DDR-667Mhz have the same ram slot and the DDR2-800Mhz will automatically downclock to the speed of the DDR2-667mhz.

2. Can I upgrade DDR2 to DDR3?
- No. As discussed in our other item post DDR2 and DDR3 do not have the same slot and can not be interchanged <click here>

3. What is the recommended amount of RAM?
a. If you plan to use Xp then 3Gb is more than sufficient.
b. If you plan to use Vista(64) or Windows7(64) - 4Gb is recommended.

b. Upgrading to 4Gb is only advantageous if you are using a 64-bit operating system. See Notice from LEGION Hardware below
- XP is a 32-bit operating system and can only recognized 3Gb.
- Vista 32-bit can recognize 4Gb but use only 3.25Gb
- Vista 64-bit can recognize and use 4Gb and above.

c. Our recommendation is to upgrade to 3Gb (1Gb+2Gb)
- when 1x4Gb becomes more affordable replace the 1Gb with a 4Gb and you get a total of 6Gb.

4. How is the pricing of DDR2-667Mhz and DDR2-800Mhz?
- DDR2-667Mhz and DDR2-800Mhz have the same price.
- as stated previously DDR2-800Mhz may be installed on laptops with DDR2-667Mhz. But it is not advisable for Laptops with DDR2-800Mhz to install ddr2-667Mhz ram as this will result to your DDR2-800Mhz to downclock to 667Mhz.

* Deliver faster performance
* Handle more open files at once
* Open larger files
* Work with more open applications at once

Notice from LEGION Hardware -> "There are a few things you have to be aware of before buying 4GB of DDR2 memory, that will determine whether or not it is viable to install this much memory. As it stands 32-bit operating systems can only address up to 4GB’s of memory. Although it can address up to 4GB of memory you will never actually have the full 4GB’s of memory available to use. Windows (32-bit) operating systems will report between 2.75GB and 3.5GB’s of available system memory, depending on what devices you have installed and the motherboard chipset/BIOS setup.

Memory capacity articles always seem to be 50% fact and 50% personal opinion. First of all before I continue please note that we only recommend 2GB of memory for Windows XP systems, while you can quite easily get away with 1GB of memory. However, Vista is a memory pig and we recommend chocking any system running Vista with as much memory as possible. This means those running the 32-bit version should look at running 3GB’s of memory for optimal performance while 2GB’s will get you by. The KVR667D2S5/2G is a 256M x 64bits DDR2-667 SO-DIMM CL5 DDR2-667 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory module. The components on this module include sixteen stacked 128M x 8-bit DDR2-667 SDRAM. This 200-pin SODIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.8V. The is a Dual In-Line Memory Module and is intended for mounting into 200-pin edge connector sockets.



Synchronous design allows precise cycle control with the use of system clock. Data I/O transactions are possible on both edges of DQS. Range of operation frequencies, programmable latencies allow the same device to be useful for a variety of high bandwidth, high performance memory system applications.

2. We do not accept trade in of existing RAM.

4. We are NOT responsible for compatibility Issues with your laptop.
